August, the government announces it is giving the Crowns shares in The Power Company Ltd to the Southland Electric Power Supply Consumer Trust
The Southland Electric Power Supply Consumer Trust was formed, and the Trust continues to this day, owning 100% of The Power Company Limited shares for the benefit of its consumers.
The Southland Power Trust continues to evolve to meet the needs of its consumers.
The Southland Power Trust acquires full ownership through TPCL of OtagoNet, Lakeland Network Limited and PowerNet Limited.
